How To Fix Those Ugly Links In Email And Websites
A lot of times when you join a new opportunity or affiliate program, you'll be given a very long, ugly, link to give to your prospects that looks something like this:
If you're on the phone with your prospect, you certainly can't give them this long link over the phone, and it looks super-unprofessional and spammy if you put it in an email... So what do you do?
The fix for this kind of ugly link is really easy... simply use a re-direction link.
In other words, you'll get your own domain name through someone like GoDaddy.com and then you'll redirect all the traffic to that domain to your opportunity link.
Here's how it works step-by-step:
Go to GoDaddy
and purchase a domain name that matches your opportunity.
Once your URL appears in your GoDaddy account, then go to manage your domain and choose "domain forwarding."
Follow the directions on GoDaddy (they're very clear) and put the URL that your company or affiliate program gave you in as the forwarding address.
That's it!
It takes a few minutes for the changes to take effect, but once they do, you'll be able to send your prospects to the domain you purchased and they will automatically be forwarded to your opportunity page. Here's an example of one of my domains that forwards to another page... in this case a lead capture page:
