MLM Business: Why Do So Many Distributors Fail?
In MLM business, finding prospects can be a pretty difficult proposition, especially when you're new to your company. There's absolutely no doubt that a lot of people fail in their MLM business each year. In fact, the failure rate for ANYONE starting a home business, MLM or otherwise, is extremely high...
...But the single biggest reason people fail in their MLM business is because they don't know how to prospect or find enough interested people to talk to about their business.
Without enough prospects, you'll constantly be looking for enough people to talk to about your MLM business and you'll rarely be able to sponsor any new members.
In short, your MLM business will fail.
So here is my short list of why people have trouble prospecting:
1. Lack Of Training And Mentoring
This is probably the biggest reason why people fail in MLM and home business in general... they lack the training necessary to build a successful MLM business.
It's unrealistic to think that you can simply open a business and the money starts pouring into your bank account. It just doesn't work that way.
Your best chance for success, especially if you lack experience, is to find a sponsor or mentor that will help you learn the things you need to know in order to build a thriving MLM business. The best way to find a sponsor that will ACTUALLY train you for success is to research them, Google them, and call them.
You must also take responsibility for your own training so that you will learn how to generate plenty of prospects and leads for your business.
2. Expecting Instant MLM Business Success
It takes time to build a thriving MLM business. It's completely unrealistic to expect thousands of dollars to start rolling into your account the first week (Unless you're a network marketing whiz kid), but that's what a lot of people expect when they get started.
A lot of inexperienced network marketers get caught up in all the hype and expect their lives to instantly change when they join an opportunity. When it doesn't work out that way, they claim failure and walk away from their new MLM businesses.
The reality is that it can take a few weeks to get the ball rolling on ANY new business and start bringing in plenty of prospects... unless you have a really great system in place. You have to give it time to work.
3. Not Getting The Right Kind Of MLM Leads
Personally, I think this is the biggest mistake that a lot of network marketers make -- They spend too much time prospecting for the wrong kind of people.
If you're spending all of your time trying to convince prospects that an MLM business is a great kind of business opportunity, then you're simply barking up the wrong tree. Instead, you've got to learn how to target the kind of people who are already intersted in MLM and know that it's a great business model.
In other words, you have to go after the low hanging fruit.
That's just one of the things that I teach and train other network marketers... where to look for prospects. If you're looking for a better way to grow your MLM business, maybe you should sign up for my free training now!
