Really Cheap Vacations Anytime
Without getting into too many specifics, here are some really cheap vacation ideas that you can apply no matter what part of the country, or even the world, that you live in. Here are a few to get you started:
Roadtrips: Road trips are a great way to get out of dodge and get a little vacation time without breaking the bank. You can even plan to pack your food along with you to save money and picnic everywhere you stop instead of eating in restraunts. You'd be surprised how much you can save on any vaction by not eating out with every meal.
National Parks: These types of trips are almost always less expensive that other types of trips because you're spending your time enjoying nature rather than spending your money to be entertained.
Festivals and Fairs: Popular festivals and fairs can be a great way to get a little cheap vacation time. There's always lots to see and do without spending a fortune. I could spend days at my own state fair and never see everything! Plus there's lots of great festivals for nearly every special interest like the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington D.C. or the Hot Air Balloon Festival in Colorado, for example.
Las Vegas: I'm not sure there's a cheaper vacation on the planet, if you don't gamble. A Vegas vacation provides lots of great food inexpensively, plus there's lots to see and do.
Cheap Cruise Packages: Cruises are more affordable today than ever and they are a ton of fun. Watch for deep discounts and be flexible on your vacation time and you'll get a great deal.
Vacation Rentals : You can save a lot of money on lodging and food, especially if you're vacationing with your family, if you choose a vacation rental instead of a hotel. Condominiums, townhomes, and timeshares often rent out their spaces when not in use and the prices are very competitive. In addition, you'll usually have a full kitchen so that you can save a bundle on your food costs.
You can also consider doing a house swap if you're on a really tight budget.
